Butterflies
butterflies
their ephemeral forms
flutter by
flickering
brief their sweet sway
they spread
paint-daubed
fanciful wings
fan flowers
flourish
eternity
perched briefly
on flowering bees’ balm
robin puffs out
his red breast
hauls down
tomorrow’s sun
white-throat sings
an evening elegy

Thanks, Chuck. You will be close to Blackweir Gardens and Sophia Gardens. They are worth a nature wander, especially the former, if you want to escape the city … unless they have been built over! Sophia Gardens may well be. Blackweir should still be free. Further afield, Roath Park with the lake and the Scott Memorial should be beautiful at this time of year.
