Mallards
They flew twice around the house, then settled in on the snow. Not a pond in sight. Six of them: beautiful. The snow was fairly fresh and they sort of swam through it, looking very clumsy. Between low light, fly screens, and dirty winter windows, the photos aren’t great. But what fun. This is the best way to shoot things: with a camera.

What a treat! They are so beautiful and peaceful!

An incredible moment really – round and round the house and then plonk! 33 years we have been here and this was a first-timer!!!

Loving this! And here we sit in 75F and only Pelicans and Dolphins in sight! I do not envy the snow, but I love the photos!

They were incredible, those mallards – just flew in from nowhere. We have a huge snow mountain at the end of the drive and two of them climbed up the steep side and one settled down on top while the other patrolled the yard.
