Red Sky
Sun flare.
Low light lifting clouds,
gifting joy,
uplifting the heart.
A morning dream:
no nightmare this.
Air fresh and pure,
chilled with winter.
Beneath the Mountain Ash
the deer prance.
Balanced on hind legs,
they reach up to guzzle
last summer’s berries
still bright on the branch.
